Feasting On Asphalt: The River Run

If you enjoyed our 6 hour food journey up the Mississippi on Food Network, you might just want to thumb your way through the book of the same name, which is just hitting the shelves this month. Packed with great photos by fellow feaster J. C. Dhien, 40 recipes from the road, and a considerable amount of ramblings from yours truly. It's a considerable departure for me and although I'm generally suspicious of books from shows, it's not a bad effort if I say so my self. The fine folks at Stewart Taboori & Chang have made it a beauty to behold. And what's more, it's such a value you won't be able to help but buy three or maybe four. (more info)

And of course, where there is a book there is a book tour. I'll be hitting some spots in New York in March then returning to the Mississippi again in late April. Please keep an eye on this website for details as they develop.

Speaking of Feasting...we?ve decided this year to trade in the bikes for catamarans and scuba tanks. Why? Because we?re feasting our way across a dozen or so Caribbean islands in Feasting On Waves. Look for it on Food Network in September of this very year. And please don?t hate me just because it looks like I?m having more than my share of fun. Believe me when I tell you this is all dreadful toil undertaken strictly for the entertainment of our faithful viewers.
