Weary of feasting on asphalt, me and the boys ditch the bikes in order to feast on the river itself for a couple of days -- a camp-out on a mid-river island and breakfast prep on a barge. Then it's on to a donut binge in St. Louis, a quick stop at a true road house, and the Midwest's favorite sandwich.
